Many cities and townships provide leaf vacuuming service on certain days. When offered, residents are asked to sweep large piles of leaves into the street near the curb at designated times. However, cities and townships do not usually extend this service to privately owned manufactured home communities.
If the service is not provided in your mobile home community, it is important that you do not put leaves into the street. Large piles of leaves left in a street ultimately will run down the rain gutters and clog the stormwater system. This can result in standing water in the streets, in mobile home lots, and if severe enough, can cause flooding of homes.
If you are unsure about how to dispose of leaves, please contact your community manager for advice.
